RM of Buchanan’s story

The Rural Municipality of Buchanan No. 304 became an incorporated rural municipality on January 1, 1913.

Within its boundaries lies the village of Buchanan, where the RM office is located. The organized hamlets of Amsterdam and Tadmore are also part of the municipality, along with the localities of Mitchellview and Tiny.

Today the RM is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the first Wednesday of every month.
